About this document: The following are the standard vehicle rental terms and conditions of Oasis Rent a Car, our trusted Tenerife ground partner. These terms govern the physical vehicle hire and will form part of the agreement you are asked to read and sign at the point of vehicle collection. They are separate from our own Booking Terms, which govern your reservation with Tenerife Airport Car Hire.
1. Delivery and Returns
Oasis Rent a Car delivers the vehicle in good general and operating condition and devoid of any apparent defects. You agree to return it in the same condition, with all documents, parts and accessories in place, on the date and time specified in this contract. Any alteration must be authorised beforehand by Oasis Rent a Car.
Oasis Rent a Car may take possession of the vehicle at any time without prior notice if the vehicle is used in breach of the conditions of this contract.
We reserve the right to cancel the delivery of the vehicle if you have any outstanding records or serious incidents history against Oasis Rent a Car.
2. Use of the Vehicle
You agree to use the vehicle according to the rules of the highway laws. The vehicle must be kept in good condition, locked when not in use, fuelled correctly, and safety devices activated when necessary. The following are expressly prohibited and constitute a breach of contract:
- Subleasing the vehicle
- Transporting goods commercially
- Pushing or towing any vehicle, trailer or other object
- Participating in races, rallies, racing tests or similar competitions
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance affecting consciousness or responsiveness
- Committing any crime against road safety
- Allowing unauthorised drivers to use the vehicle
- Driving if you do not meet the minimum age (23 years) or licence requirements (minimum 2 years, original and valid)
- Driving outside the Canary Islands
- Driving between Canary Islands without prior written consent from Oasis
- Driving in restricted areas — airport runways, unpaved roads, beaches, ravines, mountains or any route likely to damage tyres or the vehicle underside
- Transporting animals (guide dogs excepted)
3. Fines, Penalties and Tow Truck Costs
All fines, penalties, tow truck services and management expenses arising from traffic violations, broken wheels, tyre damage and fuel-related incidents are the responsibility of the customer.
4. Rental Charges
You agree to pay the rental price according to the applicable rate and taxes, insurance, and any additional charges including:
- Airport delivery: €20
- Airport delivery after hours (21:00–06:00): €50
- One-way service: €20
- Fine management: €25
- Loss of additional accessories or documents: €30
- Delivery to private parking: applicable fee
- Key replacement (loss or damage): €200
- Incorrect refuelling: €200
- Loss of V16 emergency light: €100
- Excess vehicle cleaning: €50
- Battery drain caused by leaving lights on: €60
Oasis Rent a Car reserves the right to request one or two credit cards to cover the excess deposit or fuel guarantee at collection.
5. Insurance
What is covered
The insurance covers the customer and authorised drivers against third-party liability (CDW), deposit and legal defence, provided the terms of this contract are met.
If you accept standard CDW cover, your liability for loss or damage to the vehicle, parts, accessories, theft and fire is limited to the following excess amounts:
- Vehicle groups B, C, D, E: €500
- Vehicle groups E1, F, G, H, I, I1, J, J1, J2, J3, K, K1: €950
If you upgrade to SuperCDW / Full Insurance, your excess liability is reduced to zero for an additional daily charge:
- Groups B, C, D, E: €3 per day
- Groups E1, F, G, H, I, I1, J, J1, J2, J3, K, K1: €6 per day
What is NOT covered
The insurance does not cover in any case: punctures, tyre and rim damage, vehicle underside, interior, upholstery, clutch, loss or breakage of keys, accessories and documentation, tow truck costs, traffic fines, damage caused by negligence or reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving on unpaved or prohibited roads, incorrect fuelling or battery damage from misuse.
Loss, theft or damage to goods carried in the vehicle are the sole responsibility of the customer. In the event of an accident, Oasis Rent a Car does not guarantee a replacement vehicle.
6. Accidents
In the event of an accident you must:
- Mark the vehicle with the appropriate safety devices
- Report the accident, loss, damage or theft to Oasis Rent a Car and the police immediately
- Not admit or prejudge responsibility
- Obtain full details from the other party and forward them to Oasis Rent a Car urgently
- Cooperate fully with Oasis and their insurance company in any investigation or legal proceedings
Failure to follow these steps may invalidate all insurance coverage.
7. Repairs
Oasis Rent a Car will cover expenses for oil changes, water and minor repairs (excluding punctures) up to €10, provided receipts are supplied. Prior authorisation from Oasis is required before carrying out any repair or towing the vehicle.
8. Our Responsibility
Oasis Rent a Car has taken all necessary precautions to prevent mechanical failure. In the event of failure causing death or injury, Oasis accepts responsibility for damages suffered. Oasis does not accept responsibility for indirect losses caused by accidental mechanical failure.
9. Rental Conditions
- Minimum age: 23 years
- Driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years (original, valid)
- Unlimited mileage included
- Second driver at no extra charge
- Airport delivery: minimum 3 days rental
10. Child Restraint Systems
Oasis Rent a Car provides baby seats, booster seats and other approved child restraint systems on request. Oasis staff are not authorised to install these systems. The customer is solely responsible for the correct installation and use of child restraint equipment, and for ensuring the correct system is used for each child's age and weight. Oasis Rent a Car accepts no liability for any injury arising from the use of these systems.
11. Geolocation System
All Oasis Rent a Car vehicles include a GPS geolocation tracking device. If the vehicle is connected, location and usage data may be processed for fleet management purposes by Oasis Rent a Car.
12. Personal Data
Personal data provided to Oasis Rent a Car is processed in accordance with applicable Spanish data protection legislation for the purpose of managing your rental. Oasis Rent a Car guarantees confidentiality and appropriate technical and organisational security measures.

13. Law and Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from the vehicle rental will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in the Canary Islands, under Spanish law, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction. Oasis Rent a Car's intention is always to resolve conflicts amicably in the first instance.
